A talking 'bumpsie' walked away with the 'Tiney Winey' title last Sunday night at Chukka Cove, St. Ann, at least according to Oscar B, to whom this 'size small' posterior spoke an eloquent and understandable language.

But, the winning bumper, belonging to Kemoy Brown, almost didn't get a chance to speak at all, because it seemed as if the contest had been completely forgotten. There was no mention of it throughout the night; actually, it wasn't until about 1:50 a.m. that a hurried buzz about the contest spread backstage.

Five minutes later, four young ladies heeded the announcer's call and rushed to the stage. They were quite likely urged by the excited man at the front who shouted to each possible entrant, "Unno come enter di 'Tiney Winey' contest. Unno can win $10,000! You no waan fi win $10,000?!"

warm-up session

Donning the now familiar red STAR T-shirts, they wined to that old favourite Tiney Winey. But Oscar B was not pleased with their initial presentation. After what must have been to him just a warm-up session, he told the girls how to position themselves and chanting "wine Ms. Tiney, wine," really got them moving. Brown, a 19-year-old from Port Antonio, quickly got the crowd's attention. Wining seemed like second nature to her, as she fluidly 'wined' her way down and back up again several times.

Of course, there was a part two to the wining, which saw the contestants shaking their bums to the crowd. One 'wannabe' was quickly exposed, as everything else, but her 'bumpsie' shook. The other two contestants, dressed in miniskirts, seemed unwilling to expose much. But, Brown, who jiggled her rear to the crowd's delight, provided an enticing exposé that many men will not soon forget.

Winning, though, is familiar to Brown, who said that she had won dance contests at school. As for why she entered, she quipped with a smile, "I just knew I could do it." Seems like her 'bumpsie' got that message loud and clear.
