Bull Bay residents defend cops
published: Thursday | March 31, 2005

THE OPENING of the Easter session of the Home Circuit Court was greeted yesterday with a peaceful demonstration by residents of Bull Bay, St. Andrew, who were protesting the murder charges brought against three policemen.

The placard-bearing demonstrators first stood by the barriers at the intersection of King Street and Barry Street in downtown Kingston, until the colourful ceremony marking the opening of the session was completed.

As soon as the ceremony was over, the protesters marched through the King Street entrance of the courthouse and stood in the courtyard for several minutes.

The policemen are Lerone Witter, Kirk Nunes and Ukent Edwards who were attached to the Bull Bay Police Station.
