Letter of the day - Let's support the police on crime
THE EDITOR, Sir: I FOUND THE articles by the 'police friend in England' about Robert Peele very interesting and so was the one by Colonel Douglas about the JDF and the police in general.

Love those interviews
THE EDITOR, Sir: I thoroughly enjoyed reading the three-part interview (so far) of the Most Honourable P.J. Patterson, whom I love to refer to as 'Brother P', as I used to attend his late mother's church in Barbican.

Coping with indiscipline
THE EDITOR, Sir: ACCORDING TO a report in The Sunday Gleaner of March 27, many of the Jamaican teachers who migrated to the United States and United Kingdom in recent years did so because of either indiscipline, overwork or underpay, or a combination...

Finnish friend passes on
THE EDITOR, Sir: IN THE early days of World War II, a young Finnish cabin boy named Leo Fabritius was taken off his ship in the port of Kingston, and interned as an enemy alien at Up Park Camp.

Thanking firemen
THE EDITOR, Sir: I WOULD like to say thanks to members of the Hanover Fire Department for their prompt response to a call for assistance in fighting a bush fire which was very close to some homes in Kendal.

What a disgrace!
THE EDITOR, Sir: IT IS very interesting to hear Dr. Phillips' comment on the 'assumed' new consequences to the society as a result of Operation Kingfish.
