What a disgrace!
published: Friday | April 1, 2005

THE EDITOR, Sir:

IT IS very interesting to hear Dr. Phillips' comment on the 'assumed' new consequences to the society as a result of Operation Kingfish.

It simply boggles the mind to hear elected officials make such broad-based comments and also base them off of something that happened in a country of well over 60 million people as opposed to a mere 2 1/2 million in Jamaica.

As a consequence of Kingfish, robbers, murderers and drug smugglers should be cowering in their boots. But instead, they have and will become more bolder than before.

So I guess that if the government doesn't allow the robbers etc to do their little thing on the side, they will just move up to bigger and bolder things. What a disgrace!

The fact of the matter is that there is no respect for the law from either the vast majority of the populace and the criminals.

I am, etc.,
