Glenroy Sinclair, Staff ReporterWITH FOUR rounds remaining in the preliminary stages of the Kingston and St. Andrew Football Association (KSAFA) leagues, things are heating up as teams hunt vital points to qualify for the semi-finals.
In the afternoon's Major League division one feature Rae Town, who are fourth in the standings, will play away to the sixth-placed Whitfield Town at Tinson Pen playing field. Both teams are separated by only two points and a win here is a must for either teams.
Whitfield's chances will depend on the accuracy of their star player, Richard Monroe, who is a former Harbour View National Premier League representative. Rae Town, whose winning streak ended two weeks ago when they played to a 1-1 draw with Cavalier, will be relying on their attacking midfield to get past the Whitfield defenders.
In their first engagement, the teams played to a 1-1 draw and since then a number of key players who had migrated to other teams have returned home to Rae Town, strengthening the starting line up.
In other games Police National, who lead the competition on 40 points, will play Duhaney Park at Constant Spring field.
The spirited Cavalier, fifth on 30 points, host Greenwich Town at St. George's College's Winchester Park. The latter are second on 35 points.
Over at Vauxhall High School, Brown's Town will tackle Allman/Woodford, Maxfield and Olympic Gardens square off at Cling Cling Oval, and Meadhaven and Central Kingston meet at Duhaney Park playing field.
