What they wore to the House

There's something about men in uniform.

EVERY YEAR Members of Parliament get a chance to don their finery and make the grand entrance to the nation's House of Parliament, to hear the Throne Speech that heralds the opening of the budget debate.

This year was no exception, and from the security forces to visitors, some special effort was made to look good. It is satisfying to see that the ladies who chose to wear hats have finally got the rule right: hats must match the outfit. But at least one person took party theme colours to the extreme and the outfit looked, well, let's just say Coco Channel would need a sedative to digest this one.
