THE REVEREND AL Miller, pastor of the Faith Tabernacle Church, yesterday challenged the Creative Production and Training Centre (CPTC) to be the catalyst of change in the information industry.
"Be catalysts for change in the information industry because something fresh is needed," he said. "Fill the air waves with programmes with messages that empower, messages that liberate, that bring hope, programmes with messages of truth."
FACED CHALLENGES
Rev. Miller was addressing the CPTC's 21st anniversary church service on Half-Way Tree Road. He said the institution has come of age at the time when the nation was at its darkest hour and is being faced with crime and economic challenges.
"Most messages seen and heard from the information industry are negative, degrading, depressing, enslaving, immoral and violence-filled," he said. "Words received inform thoughts believed."
Created in 1984, the CPTC offers production services for radio and television programmes and commercials, digital music recording, editing, mixing sound effects and other services. It is also the parent of the cable station, CTV.
