John Mills are favourites for Junior High, All-Age Champs

THE 2005 INSPORTS two day Junior High and All-Age track and field Championships begin today at the National Stadium starting at 9:00 a.m.

Defending champions John Mills are highly fancied to retain their title, but should expect strong challenges from Windward Road, Mico Practising, Red Hills and Rock Hall.

John Mills, apart from winning the overall title, are also the defending boys and girls champions, having won for the past six years.

The Ransford Spaulding-coached John Mills last year won the Championships with a combined total of 529 points (boys ­ 286, girls ­ 243).

Windward Road with (310), Mico Practising (233), Red Hills (215) and Rock Hall, rounded off the top five.

Two new schools, Castleton and St. Margaret's are down to make their debuts.

The Championships will be staged in four classes for boys and girls involving different age groups.

OTHER PARTICIPANTS

The other participating schools are Melrose, Constant Spring, Green Park from Clarendon, Seaward, Stony Hill, Shortwood Practising, Balcombe Drive, Rock Hall, Norman Gardens, Windward Road, Calabar, St. Mary's from Above Rocks, Mico Practising, Stony Hill, Cockburn Gardens, Red Hills, Maverley and Rock River All-Age from Clarendon.

Seven finals are to be contested on today's opening day, with another 48 set for tomorrow.
