LETTER OF THE DAY - We, the have-nots, are tired of the hypocrisy
THE EDITOR, Sir: I READ WITH interest, the Letter of the Day published Friday, April 15, written by Pastor Wesley Boynes, and have heard him being taken to task by one media host and a subsequent misguided caller.

In defence of Golding
THE EDITOR, Sir: TO PARAPHRASE the Bard: 'A plague on all your media houses'. The media has spent more than a week now chastising Bruce Golding for an appropriate use of a Jamaican word.

Celebrate PM's life now!
THE EDITOR, Sir: I THOUGHT long and hard about this one. However, since the writer's letter received the prominence of 'Letter of the Day', I decided on at the least a short response.

Rethink the GCT increase
THE EDITOR, Sir: DR. OMAR Davies has said that with the increase in General Consumption Tax (GCT) from 15 per cent to 16.5 per cent the poor will not be significantly affected given that basic food items are exempt from GCT.

Plea from Portmore
THE EDITOR, Sir: I AM calling out to the Jamaica Civil Service Association who signed off our rights to the government. This government has shown us that it has blatant disregard for the effect of the Memorandum of Understanding on our welfare.
