published: Tuesday | April 26, 2005

HALL

JAMAICA'S MICHAEL Hall has been appointed by International Cricket Council's Cricket World Cup West Indies 2007 (ICC CWC WI 2007 Inc.) as cricket operations director.

In his role as cricket operations director, Hall will oversee all cricket-related activity in the host venue countries, including the logistical movements of all teams and officials during ICC CWC 2007 and the management of cricket operations for all venues on match day and all training days.

A release from ICC Cricket World Cup West Indies 2007 yesterday said Hall will be joined by Roland Holder, a Barbadian national and former West Indies Test cricketer and current manager of the Barbados cricket team, who has been appointed as cricket operations manager.

PORTFOLIO

Hall, supported by Holder, will manage the specification and procurement of all cricket related equipment stipulated by the ICC for matches and training, as well as liaising with the event operations, anti-infringement and security unit of the ICC to ensure all their requirements for the tournament are met. The cricket operations team will also oversee all cricket related activity undertaken by the Jamaica Local Organising Committee's (LOC) in each of the participating host venues.

Hall was chief cricket operations officer for the West Indies Cricket Board from 2001 to 2003 and, in that time, was responsible for all aspects of both international and domestic cricket, which included negotiation of fixtures, organising accommodation and travel itineraries, liaison with the ICC and the assignment of officials, as well as the procurement of all equipment required to stage events during the cricket season.

PREVIOUS RESPONSIBILITY

Prior to joining Jamaica Cricket 2007 Ltd. Hall was the general manager of Independence Park Ltd., with responsibility for the management, maintenance and promotion of the National Stadium complex in Kingston, Jamaica.

Hall joins ICC CWC WI 2007 Inc. from his current post as chief executive officer (CEO) of LOC, Jamaica Cricket 2007 Ltd. and will take up his position on May 16,. Roland Holder joins from his current post as manager of the Barbados cricket team on June 1.

In commenting on his forthcoming role, Hall said: "I am excited about the prospect of joining the team at ICC CWC 2007 Inc. and look forward eagerly to the challenges that will no doubt be associated with my direct areas of responsibility as cricket operations director."

Chris Dehring, managing director and CEO of ICC CWC WI 2007 Inc. welcomed both Hall and Holder to the organisation, saying that these positions were vital to the delivery of world class cricket during the ICC CWC 2007 tournament.
