Police hands are tied
published: Monday | May 9, 2005

THE EDITOR, SIR:

MY CONDOLENCES to the families of the slain police and security officers. Again it is all talk. Almost everyone in Jamaica knows who the criminals are and in which protected, garrisoned, political enclaves they are to be found. How can politicians who are 'elected' in garrisoned communities say they support democracy?

Some of those same thugs going around murdering police and citizens at large are the same ones who bully people to vote for some of those shady politicians. They now own those politicians and whenever the police kill or capture them, you hear cries from those politicians of police brutality and partisanship. The police hands are therefore tied and they look on hopelessly as their fellow officers and decent people are murdered. Set the police free and see how quick those thugs will be put out of commission and run crying for their mothers.

I am, etc.,

WAIN ROY
