HARBOUR VIEW joined leaders Portmore United at the top of the Wray and Nephew National Premier League after edging them 1-0 in dramatic fashion at Ferdie Neita Park yesterday.

Harbour View got their lone goal from a Jermaine Hue penalty in the 57th minute, but had to fight off intense pressure towards the end of the game and spurned opportunities to boot in 15 minutes of play that showed the listlessness of the first 75.

Harbour View's advantage came when Portmore, trying to push the pace, lost the ball in Harbour View's half and Damion Stewart ran 30 yards before delivering a masterful diagonal ball to Marcelino Blackburn, who in turn, played a delightful ball across Shawn Sawyers' goal towards Luton Shelton. Shelton's header back across the box was handled by Anthony Modeste and the penalty was duly given.

BRILLIANT SAVES

Portmore still got opportunities to pull one back but Harbour View custodian Ryan Thompson turned hero as he came up with brilliant saves against a point blank Modeste header and a well-driven Omar Daley free-kick from 18-yards that went through his wall.

After the game, Harbour View coach, Donovan Hayles admitted that Portmore had more of the ball.

"I think it is great to get back to the top of the tables and I think this game was a mental one. In terms of territorial possession Portmore had the edge but we did what mattered most, we scored the goal," he said.

Paul young, who was seeing his team lose for the third time this season, was not perturbed by the loss.

"We had chances at the end to win the game and that's the bottom line," he said.
