Let us heal our wounds
published: Tuesday | May 10, 2005

THE EDITOR, Sir:

Our nation is wounded and divided, a people confused and uncertain, fearful and hopeless, seeking a right way. We have contributed to the wounds and divisions by our own divisions, mistrust, internal strife, jealousies, fear, negative behaviour, pride, insecurity and insularity. We have sinned before and against our people, each other and our God. To heal the wounds and putrefying sores of our nation, we must first heal our wounds and bruises so that in health we can, without contaminating, heal our land.

Hence I apologise publicly and ask our forgiveness of anything I may have said, done, implied or caused to be perceived as wrong, unjust or offensive to you or your denomination. I repent of any action that has contributed to division and where I have been wronged, or offence has been done to me, I choose to forgive so that together we may walk in love and unity to the glory of our God, for the healing of our nation and for the strength of our witness to our world, that they might believe.

Beloved, our nation under judgement is in trouble, only our action and cry for mercy can save her from impending, swift and worst calamity.

To this end, I urge you to join the call of our fellow leaders to attend the islandwide Pastors gathering on Friday, November 13, 2005 to seek answers for the healing of our nation. Make it a priority as our nation's future depends upon it.

I am, etc.,

AL MILLER

Pastor
