THE MANAGEMENT Institute for National Development (MIND) will be expanding its reach across the region this financial year by targeting all English-speaking Caribbean countries, with an increased menu of online programmes.
The announcement was made recently by the agency Chief Executive Officer, Maria Jones. She was speaking at a Friday policy forum at MIND's Old Hope Road-based office under the the topic, 'MIND Online Internet-based Training: Success and Challenges'.
"We are now positioning MIND Online as an important driver of MIND's vision of being a Caribbean centre of excellence. Late in this
fiscal year, therefore, we will commence packaging courses targeted at the entire English-speaking Caribbean," the CEO said.
REPACKAGING COURSES
Currently, MIND Online only offers the associate degree in management studies, but Mrs. Jones informed that there were plans to repackage a number of courses that were already being delivered in the traditional classroom setting, for online learning.
She also revealed that MIND was now in a position to facilitate other institutions that wished to offer online programmes, as a result of the Jones e-Education Software System (JESS), a course management system, which the agency acquired in the development of its online associate degree.
