Invaders flooded by Beech four-timer
published: Tuesday | May 10, 2005

Howard Walker, Staff Reporter

BEECH

IT TOOK Patrick Beech one game to triple his goalscoring tally, as he banged four goals to elevate Arnett Gardens to a 5-0 win over Invaders in their Wray and Nephew National Premier League game at the Anthony Spaulding Sports Complex on Sunday.

Beech scored in the 9th, 63rd, 65th and the 85th minutes to take his tally to six goals for the season, to be Arnett's fourth leading scorer behind Kwame Richardson (9), Kevin Wilson (8) and Daniel Shaw (7).

WILLIAMS OPENS UP

Jonathan Williams had opened the floodgates in the sixth minute against an Invaders team which played in the changed white strip of the home team after their red and blue was deemed to be too close to the red and black colours of the home team.

In fact, Invaders only had one player on the bench, a clear indication of where the Trelawny-based team is heading and why they are rooted to the bottom of the table on 13 points.

Arnett Gardens gave debuts to two young midfielders in Kevin Rose and Donovan Bernard in the second half and head coach Michael Tulloch, was pleased with the players' performances and indicated that more youngsters will get their chance as the season continues.

"The blend of youngsters and elders looked good for the future and we have to build on what we saw today," said Tulloch.

"The players played to instructions and it paid off. All I want the senior players to do is guide them along and from time to time we will be injecting more youngsters," he added.
