St Mary teens still missing
published: Wednesday | May 18, 2005

POLICE IN St. Mary say they are still investigating the case of two teenage girls who went missing last week. A statement from the Consta-bulary Communication Network (CCN) disclosed that the teenagers were reported missing on May 5 and May 9.

They are Sabrina McCalla, otherwise called Lisa and Amanda Chambers. Sabrina attends the Brimmer Vale High School while Amanda is a student at the Oracabessa High School, both in St. Mary.

According to the CCN, Sabrina, who is 152 centimetres (5 ft tall) and of dark complexion, left her home in Oracabessa for an undisclosed destination. Amanda, who hails from Trinity Land district, has not been seen since she left home for school at 11:00 a.m.

When last seen, she was wearing a green tunic, green plaid blouse and black shoes. Both girls are 14 years old.

RUNAWAY TEENS

Constable Angella McTaggart, the CCN's liaison officer for St. Mary, told The Gleaner that there have been several cases of runaway teens in the parish recently.

"At this moment we are not suspecting that they have been abducted or anything like that. In the past week, seven children have been reported missing and two of them have returned home," said Constable McTaggart.

She added that it is the second time that two of the teens, who are still at large, have been reported missing.
