CONSTANT SPRING rediscovered their winning touch with a 1-0 home success against Rivoli in the Wray and Nephew National Premier League match uptown yesterday afternoon.
Nigel Reid scored the all-important goal for Danny Lyn's team at the 14th minute.
It was their first win since registering a 3-0 success against bottom-of-the-tables Invaders on their home field on April 17, five rounds back.
Their task was made easier when Omar Parker was given a straight red card at the 43rd minute for violent conduct. Parker had been yellow carded only four minutes earlier.
GAME LACKED QUALITY
Constant Spring, which advanced to 28 points, one behind Rivoli, got the better scoring chances but the game lacked real quality, probably owing to the mid-table position of the contestants who are neither capable of making the semis or being demoted.
Both coaches attested to this fact.
Rivoli's Anthony Thompson said:
"All we've to do is come again and try to get a good position and come again next year because there's nothing in it.
"It was a hard-fought game, but we've never had any luck at Constant Spring."
Danny Lyn of Spring said: "The two teams are basically going nowhere. It was basically a matter of honouring the fixtures; it (game) was of academic interest."
Meanwhile, defending champions Tivoli Gardens were leading Wadadah 3-1 at press time in the late game at Jarrett Park.
The Christophers, Nicholas and Jackson, along with Ian McAnuff, had scored for Tivoli, while Daniel Ricketts netted the Montego Bay team's goal.
