Manpower opens new home
published: Friday | May 20, 2005

HINCHCLIFFE

THE 15-YEAR-OLD Manpower and Maintenance Services Limited (MMS), now has its own corporate headquarters at 1 Eureka Road in St. Andrew.

The new location Manpower Centre was acquired at a cost of $30 million by Chairman/ Chief Executive Officer Audrey Hinchcliffe earlier this year.

Speaking at the opening last week, Mrs. Hinchcliffe credited the achievement to "incredible blessings and the dedicated staff who were not afraid "to get their hands dirty."

The diligence and tenacity of the team is expected to pay huge dividends, as by the end of the year MMS will be listed on the stock exchange. Mrs. Hinchcliffe disclosed that plans are far advanced in this regard.

ACCOMPLISHMENTS

Other accomplishments include acquisition of Office Services Limited; the establishment of the company's website: www.manpowerja.com; a staff complement up 1,600 from 12 at the start; a roster of over 90 clients in over 100 locations islandwide, including the first Tony Thwaites Wing at the University Hospital of the West Indies, which remains a client today.

In his address, guest speaker Prime Minister P.J. Patterson said Mrs. Hinchcliffe is like the typical hard working Jamaican woman, "who put her heart and soul in her small venture."

He added that MMS had found a niche in the service industry and was now in a position to cope successfully on the international market.

The Manpower Centre will be fully utilised as a headquarters and training centre, as well as offering rental space.
