Tornadoes leaves for Florida meet
published: Friday | May 20, 2005

Paul-Andre Walker, Staff Reporter

THE TORNADOES Swim Club left the island yesterday for Sarasota, Florida, to compete in the Kent B. Holdren Memorial meet.

The event, being hosted by the Sarasota YMCA Sharks, will see 32 members of Tornadoes in action including Brad Hamilton, the phenomenal 15-year-old, who has been making headlines recently.

Hamilton is using the meet as preparation for the World Swim Championships to be held this July in Montreal, Canada.

The team will also boast representatives from the recent CARIFTA 2005 Swimming Championships.

Nicole Chin, young Jason Adams, Stefan Brown, Richard Graham and Rohan Johnson have all made the trip.

National coach Jackie Walter takes the group into competition along with national development squad members Matthue Dehaney, Dominic Walter and Matthew Chen.

The competition will run from today until Sunday, and the team is expected back in Jamaica on Tuesday.
