THE FUNERAL service for Inspector Lascelles Walsh held yesterday at the Church of the Open Bible on Washington Boulevard, was a regal affair.
The service for the beloved lawman who was brutally gunned down while on duty on May 4 was flooded with police personnel and well-wishers from across the island. Resplendently-dressed officers made for a spectacular display, as they spent the afternoon celebrating the life of their fallen colleague affectionately called 'Walshie'. There was hardly a dry eye in the jam-packed church, as dozens of tributes were read. This, while the coffin of the deceased policeman, draped in the Jamaican flag with his officer's cap resting atop it, lay in the background.
