KEMEEL WOLFE scored two goals as Portmore United ran rings around Harbour View to capture the Red Stripe Champions Cup Knockout Trophy with an easy 3-1 win, earning a whopping $500,000 in the process.
In was a stroll in the park for Portmore as Harbour View had no answer to the ravishing 'Wolfes' and Deerr (Kevin), who effectively killed off any idea that a match was really on in the National Stadium.
Kemeel, one of three Wolfe brothers in the team along with Wolry and Rafe, gnarled two second-half goals in the 53rd and 64th minutes after Oneil 'Chippy' McDonald opened the scoring in the 16th minute from the penalty spot.
In fact, so dominant were Portmore United that they even scored Harbour View's own goal after Tyrone Sawyers bundled in a Craig Stewart cross in the 36th minute to briefly raise the hopes of the Stars of the East.
SOME WASTEFUL SHOOTING
The final score of 3-1 was not an indication of the run of play as Portmore should have won by at least 10 clear goals but for some wasteful shooting and at times brilliant stuff from young goalkeeper Ryan Thompson.
Winning coach Paul Young was obviously a happy man but rued the missed chances to effectively kill off the game in the first half.
"The first half was perfect only for the fact that we didn't score the chances. It would have been a blowout.
"It was evident we were the better team today. We played excellent and I am really proud of the players as they deserved it," said Young.
Losing coach Donovan Hayles could not be found moments after the game for an interview and must have left the stadium in a huff after enduring 90 minutes of torture from his team.
To make matters worse, Harbour View's sweeper Oneil Smith was red carded at the start of the second half for verbally abusing the referee assistant with the teams level at 1-1.
In front of a relatively small crowd, Portmore turned in a masterly performance, handing Harbour View a lesson in basic football on a damp stadium turf.
Captain Kevin Deerr, the tricky Wolry Wolfe, Kemeel Wolfe, Oneil McDonald, Jason Morrison and Chris Dawes totally dominated a Harbour View team lacking verve.
They created chances after chances, breaking down the Harbour View defence at will and the first half should have ended 6-1.
The second half was no different and with Harbour View down to 10 men it was like a training session for the St. Catherine team.
Kemeel scored twice in 11 minutes to effectively take Harbour View out of the misery.
