THE RITZ-CARLTON Golf & Spa Resort is currently scheduled to re-open its doors to guests on July 1,Verona Carter Spokesperson for The Ritz-Carlton Resorts of the Caribbean told Wednesday Business.
The 427-room five-star hotel was forced to close its doors after flood rains in St. James on April 27. It was originally projected to reopen in May.
"Our previous re-opening date is delayed because of the operational infrastructure taking more time than we originally anticipated," Ms. Carter said. "Facilities such as having the proper systems to enable us to be able to transfer calls to guest rooms, suffered water damage, and are taking some time to repair."
Most of the guest rooms, suites and restaurants remain intact, she said. The hotel is now doing internal and external enhancement work such as landscaping which would normally have been done during the low season.
"We are currently rebooking guests holding reservations for June to hotels on island, or to our sister properties in the Caribbean and Florida," she said. "We are doing everything possible to ensure that we are fully operational on July 1st."
