Stop the crime menace - Doreen Frankson
published: Wednesday | May 25, 2005

FRANKSON

Excerpts from a speech by President of the Jamaica Manufacturers' Association, Doreen Frankson at its 37th Annual Awards Banquet at the Hilton Kingston Hotel in St. Andrew last week.

"I AM a very passionate woman. I am also passionate about this rock, Jamaica. Therefore, when this country is threatened by the sick and demented actions of a few it makes me very angry.

"We must take back our country. And, tonight, I am challenging everyone here -- politicians, manufacturers, members of the security forces, and every citizen to get involved.

"But, I caution you, don't approach the solution as if it were a nine-day wonder. It will take time. Hence, let us be serious and resolute about dealing with this monster with a united force for action."
