ARNETT GARDENS have it all to do in defending their Western Union Division 'B' title when they go up against Ravens tonight at the National Indoor Sports Centre.
The 7:00 p.m. start will see what is believed to be a weakened Arnett line-up without Sabrina Spence at goal shoot taking on dangerous opponents.
That danger comes from the tall figure of Careoletta McDonald, who has been stunning teams with her decisive height and size advantage.
Arnett, who are no strangers to tough competition having demolished a strong Alpha 'A' in last season's final, will be trying to play around the game of the tall Ravens' shooter while focussing on what their coach, Delroy Garrison, considers "their strength in attack".
"It means a lot to the community," Garrison said.
IN THE GIRLS' HANDS
"There has been a little bit of a stigma in terms of the violence and, as you know, the football team hasn't made it to the (Wray and Nephew National Premier League) semi-finals, so they are looking to the girls to bring home the victory as a token to the community," he said.
The third and fourth placed play-offs in the Division 'B' League will start an hour before the final and will be contested between Alexander Strikers and Ebony Strikers 'A'.
Meanwhile, in the Berger Paints Super League, Jamalco and Tivoli won their semis on Tuesday night to set up a final rematch on Saturday.
Jamalco were pushed to the limit by Waulgrovians 'A', who boasted players like Connie Francis, who ended with 19 goals from 31 attempts, in the 43-42 affair and Simone Forbes, who chipped in with 18 goals from 26 attempts.
However they proved to be no match for Romelda Aiken's 33-goal performance and Elaine Davis's ten from 15.
In the other semi-final, Tivoli outdid their sister team, Omega 'A', with a one-sided 42-27 scoreline.
