Rid streets of 'windshield wipers'
published: Monday | May 30, 2005

THE EDITOR, Sir:

IT IS with much concern, especially for female motorists, that I pen this letter, imploring that the police remove 'windshield wipers' from our streets. They are vicious creatures.

As a female motorist, I have had quite a number of unpleasant run-ins with these fellows, my most recent being Thursday, May 12, at the traffic lights at the JBC corner leading unto Eastwood Park Road.

The fellow approached my car after being chased by another motorist which happened to be a male. Upon his approach, I told him not to wipe my windshield, but he proceeded.

I refused to pay him as he stared angrily. The light changed and as I moved off I heard a terrible bang in the back of my car. I stopped and the motorists behind me started honking their horns, so I continued on my way home.

Later when I examined my car, there was a dent and chipped paint which cost $5,000 to repair.

Motorists, please! Refrain from paying these guys. You are encouraging them to prey on women.

I am, etc.,

VENICE ANDERSON
