DEVON HODGES hammered in 10 goals for Rivoli United to humiliate 10-man Invaders 15-0 in their Wray and Nephew National Premier League match at Prison Oval yesterday.

In a match played before an almost empty Prison Oval pavilion, midfielder Hodges started the goalscoring onslaught in the ninth minute of play. He doubled it in the 13th, and added other strikes to his remarkable scoring feat in the 32nd, 40th, 51st, 60th pen., 75th, 76th, 82nd and 85th minutes.

The other goals were scored by Reuben Whittaker (28th), Gregory Tape (42nd), Sean Coleman (43rd), Ricardo Planter (55th, 58th) for the Rivoli team which held a 7-0 first half advantage.

Oliver Brown, coach of the regulation-bound Invaders which turned up with only 10 players, said that his team was not prepared for the encounter and with seven goals down at half-time it was hard to come back.

"After we were down 7-0 at half-time it was impossible for us to bounce back. However, the aim now is to keep the club together and with the youths we can bounce back and go forward in the coming season."

PLAYING FOR PRIDE

Harold Thomas of Rivoli said that his team was only playing for pride as they are locked in the middle of the league.

"We came here today knowing fully well that it's just pride we are playing for. If this result puts us one place up I am thankful.

"I think that Hodges did a magnificent job and had he been in better physical condition, I know he would have scored more goals."
