Questions for the PSOJ
published: Wednesday | June 1, 2005

THE EDITOR, Sir:

THE 13-POINT '2005 Declaration at Emancipation Park' gave a June 15 deadline to the 60 Members of Parliament in Resolution #2.

However, the matter of the Business Sector and 'Extortion' was put way down on the list as Resolution #11 and couched in rather vague language.

To my mind this should either have been Resolution 2 or 3.

The fact that it was included where it was in the declaration speaks to hypocrisy and an unwillingness to confront this monster that most of us 'know' exists.

Remember as we say in Jamaica, 'One han cyan clap'. Answers to the questions below are needed from the PSOJ in the next 24 hours.

What is the deadline for the business sector to desist from paying extortion money?

And what are the consequences for those who continue?

We need to be honest to self and others if we are to be able to 'walk good' in our country.

I am, etc.,
