published: Wednesday | June 1, 2005

LAWSON

FAST BOWLERS Jermaine Lawson and Oneil Richards returned from their one-match bans to feature in the St. Catherine rescheduled Supreme Ventures Super Cup match against Jamaica Defence Force (JDF) at Chedwin Park yesterday.

Richards first hit 26 in St. Catherine's first innings of 168, then returned to pick up 1-15 as he and Lawson, 2-17, restricted JDF to 68 for three.

Damion Bryce, 39, and twins David and Dean Morgan, with 36 and 29 respectively, were the top scorers in St. Catherine's small total.

Former Jamaica Under-19 pacer Kamal Dennis was the best JDF bowler, with 4-44, supported by Warren Medwinter, 3-31 and Omar Ellington, 2-14.

PLAY SET TO CONTINUE

In reply, JDF slipped to 32 for three, as Lawson removed Beristan Reid nine Mel Wint seven while Richards forced Mark Grey to step back on his stumps for four.

Former Jamaica batsman Wayne Cuff, 27, and Damion Grey, 15, have so far added 36 for the fourth wicket.

Play continues today at 10:00 a.m.
