Hypocrisy coming to light
published: Friday | June 3, 2005

THE EDITOR, Sir:

I WANT to use this opportunity to publicly commend the commissioner for the transparent manner in which he is now running the police force. His address to the police personnel was very eye-opening.

The level of hyprocrisy that once permeated the police force is now coming to light. The corruption that now besets the institution must be addressed with utmost urgency. The startling revelations made by Commissioner Thomas is a step in the right direction.

The force needs to regain the confidence of the Jamaican people and as such, Mr. commissioner this is a crucial step that you have now taken.

The onus is now on every citizen of this great country to come together and assist the commissioner in purging the force of criminal elements. For all the law-abiding police officers thank you for doing such a good job and I hope you will continue to do so.

I am, etc.,
