SMART,SASSY&SEXY SUCCESSFUL SHE-DEVIL? WHAT CRAP! SAYS WOMEN'S GROUP
published: Tuesday | June 7, 2005

ON MAY 21 The Gleaner's Mind and Spirit section featured author, family counsellor, and evangelist C. Ray Campbell talking about his newly released book She-devils and Sex Demons ... A guide to pastors, husbands and wives. The book warned men to be aware of the exploits of the many she-devils in society and while Campbell noted that not all women are she-devils and that there are such creatures as he-devils, his arguments have enraged a number of women. Here are some of the comments submitted by women and women's groups to the Kingston-based Women's Media Watch. In addition, Gleaner Reporter Dennise Williams who has read the book weighs in with her thoughts.

Call Kingfish - let's arrest the she-devils

MANY PEOPLE wonder what is wrong with Jamaica today, we have so many challenges - crime, violence, rape, incest, children growing up without the support of their fathers, and the list goes on.

Well, there is an answer.

You see, society's ills come from the actions of certain women - not through individual choices or irresponsibility. Oh no, it is the wicked, evil workings of She Devils that have wreaked havoc in our world.

She Devils, according to C. Ray Campbell, evangelist of the Glad Tidings Church of the First Born in Buff Bay, Portland, are women who use sex, their sexuality and cunning to fog men's minds. He has used his book as a warning to men and a guide for their wives so they will have an understanding of the battle that their husbands face every day.

For you see, when your husband unzips his pants and dips his wick, it is not his fault.

WHO IS A SHE-DEVIL?

Here is how Campbell identifies she-devils. 'Look out for she-devils with their deceptive smiles, sexually exposed dresses, friendly interest, unnecessary praises, disguised gifts, impressive performances, pleasant countenance, kind gestures, and helpfulness.' (Hmmm, that could be just about any woman.)

The book goes on to detail the many ways she-devils destroy men and, by extension, their families.

SHE-DEVILS AT WORK

Here is a taste of how she-devils operate, in the world according to Campbell: "This generation is experiencing a sex explosion. It carries a craving in the female to expose themselves in a fashion that seductively attracts attention. So the sex explosion has worn out the man's values and attitudes making him change direction and regain his lordship over earth and leadership over his family."

Or how about this gem on the gender divide orchestrated by she-devils: "The gender divide gives today's women the spiritual support to excel in life and denies the men the spiritual strength to survive."

In essence, women are 'being cloned as ambitious and successful creatures and men are cloned as weak and failing beings.' (What an insult to men!)

Through Campbell's great insight we also come to know that your baby father/husband really wants to pay child maintenance, but she-devils have

conspired against the both of you. In fact, he is probably spending his money on a she-devil, against his will (of course).

SAFEGUARD YOUR WOMB

Just when I thought the book could not get any more ridiculous, Campbell writes that She-devils strike at the very beginnings of life.

"She-devils can affect pregnancy. Women should safeguard their wombs before and during pregnancy. Too many Christian women are experiencing miscarriages or being unable to have natural deliveries."

He asserts that sex demons/she-devils can realign pregnancy, "and change the child's nature to be a pervert or a criminal."

So call Kingfish, our crime problem is not because certain individuals want to cause fear and mayhem for their own gain and it's not about the social disconnect and the unfair distribution of resources. No, the problem starts in the womb and we have to arrest the mothers and any woman they associate with for they may be She-devils in disguise. Look out for a Kingfish raid on Victoria Jubilee Hospital (Kingston).

THE DELILAH NEXT DOOR

Campbell has the most helpful advice for unsuspecting men. "There is a Delilah living next door - change your address!"

And should you take his advice lightly, there are dire consequences for the foolhardy. "She-devils are known to cause serious sexual problems ... Their demons can cause ... impotence ... or premature ejaculation. They can turn men's sperm into flakes" ... (Hmmm, you mean like cornflakes?)

Therefore, let who has ears let him hear. "Male counsellors are at risk, pastors are singled out, happy husbands are monitored, successful businessmen are being hunted and God help the politicians who have she-devils as interns."

Reading this book I was in turn outraged and in tears (of laughter). The sad thing is that there are a few people who will (do) actually believe this kind of garbage.
