THE TRULY Divine Sponge cake from St. Hugh's High School, had no fat but the lime, flour, orange and other fruits were enough for a delicious creation.
Another eye-catching and tasty creation from St. Hugh's was the Calypso Callaloo, a callaloo fish roll in Creole sauce.
Joy-Ann Humphreys, one of the St. Hugh's trio, said, "We tried our best to use home grown foods in a creative way and we're glad it paid off.
"My schoolmates and I actually enjoy creating balanced meals from nutritious foods," she added.
TEAMWORK PRAISED
The judges heaped praises on the entries of Teamwork Primary and High School in Montego Bay, St. James. Their entries were (age group 11 to 16) Orange Rice, Tomato Cake, Fruit Lasagne, Chicken Rundown and Coconut Chicken. The school's entries in the age group seven to 10 was the Naseberry Delight which took first place in the beverage section. The Naseberry Delight was made from ingredients such as yoghurt, naseberry and skimmed milk
When it was announced that Teamwork Primary had won, the students and teacher screamed so hard it echoed throughout the entire building.
Christiana James who made the drink said, " I told my teacher I was going to win."
Overall all the school had very creative and scrumptious dishes and everyone in the end received a medal or merit.
