PRIME MINISTER P.J. Patterson will meet his British counterpart, Tony Blair, in London today, en route to the Group of 77 (G77) summit in Doha, Qatar, the British High Commission in St. Andrew disclosed yesterday.

Against the background of Jamaica's role as chair of the G77 and the United Kingdom's forthcoming chairmanship of the G8 and presidency of the European Union, the two Prime Ministers are expected to discuss a range of international topics, including the United Nations Millennium Summit Review in September.

BILATERAL ISSUES

It is also expected that they will discuss bilateral cooperation issues, especially the continuing and successful joint efforts to tackle drugs and crime, including Operation Kingfish.

The Prime Minister will also meet with Baroness Amos, Leader of the House of Lords, and Lord David Triesman, recently-appointed Parliamentary Undersecretary of State at the Foreign and Commonwealth Office, the minister responsible for the U.K.'s relations with the Caribbean.

Among the issues on the agenda is the review of the report on reforming the United Nations. Patterson's two-week trip will also take him to Hong Kong and China, where he will pursue tourism, trade and investment interests.

The delegation will include members of the Jamaican private sector.
