PRYCE
I NEVER got the chance to graduate from high school but I did my best and left with two subjects - a measly feat when juxtaposed with the nine and 10 subjects which are in all fairness aeons more laudable. Still, it was my intention to go on to further studies but somehow I lost my focus.
Fast forward a few years and here I am, like Stella, trying desperately to get my groove back by doing a subject at a time. I won't be reaching the top tomorrow but 'slowly but surely' is seemingly the adage that governs my life.
WHAT IS WORTHLESS?
Worthless? What do we classify as worthless? I'm calling to all young people who are not where they want to be as a result of limited resources or lack of focus, to keep on trying. To those hustling on the streets in a bid to earn their honest bread, "nuff respect". Keep on doing what you are doing even if it means that you wipe windscreens. Do the best you can irrespective of what
onlookers may say.
Circumstances made me who I am. I could have picked up the destructive steel (gun) and I could have been like the antagonist in the movie Kill one per day. I chose, instead, to vent my ire by penning this article to make families cognisant that the world doesn't end with us and that the love and support we dispense today will determine the character of our children. So bestow on us the love and respect we deserve.
Remember also that people who push handcarts also deserve respect - yes, in the very same way we laud those attending universities.
