published: Tuesday | June 14, 2005

THE CARIBBEAN Maritime Institute (CMI) will stage a public forum on 'Globalisation, the Caribbean Single Market and Economy (CSME) and their impact on the Regional Shipping Industry' this Thursday. The event will be held at the Undercroft at the University of the West Indies, Mona, beginning at 5:00 p.m.

The forum is being staged in collaboration with the Sir Arthur Lewis Institute of Social and Economic Studies and is part of the CMI's 25th anniversary celebrations. Panelists will include representatives from both the shipping and allied industries who are impacted by globalisation and the CSME.

James Moss-Solomon of GraceKennedy Foundation will be the keynote speaker, with panelists representing the Port Authority of Jamaica, the University of the West Indies, the Institute of Law and Economics, the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and Foreign Trade, the Caribbean Shipping Association, and facilitated by Fritz Pinnock, Ph.D., of the Shipping Association of Jamaica.
