It took a snub to ignite the flames
published: Monday | June 20, 2005

The bride and groom with their parents.

WHEN A group of students met under the jackfruit tree at the University of Technology in Papine, St. Andrew, one day in the late '90s, discussing 'what turns you on', Mariesha Creary told Frantz Irons: "Certainly not you."

With a remark like that no one in the group would dream that the pair would eventually be married. However, on April 16, Frantz Alexander Joseph Irons (son of Dr. Aggrey Irons) and Mariesha Valair Creary (daughter of Clement (Teddy ) Creary ) became husband and wife.

The snub long behind them, the nuptial mass was conducted at Sts. Peter and Paul Church, St. Andrew, by Monsignor Kenneth J. Mock Yen. The reception, with 250 guests, was held in the ballroom of the Jamaica Pegasus Hotel, New Kingston. Music was by the 50/50 Band and the disco was Alric & Boyd.

The couple honeymooned at Trident Hotel in Port Antonio, Portland. They will live in Montego Bay, St. James.
