TWO GOALS by Mario Swaby propelled Portmore United to a 3-1 win over Waterhouse and into the Wray and Nephew National Premier League final 3-2 on aggregate.
Swaby scored in the fourth and 69th minutes to compliment Rudolph Austin's 34th minute strike.
Kevin Lamey got a consolation goal in the 86th for his 22nd goal of the season, but it came too late as Portmore held on comfortably to reach their second final in three seasons.
The slender and deceptively skilful Swaby said he had a vision the night before that he would perform well.
"I visioned it from the night before. They say what you see first, is what you are going to put out. It is just hard work and dedication," the former Kingston College Manning Cupper said.
"Throughout the season I have been coming off the bench and today was the right time to play up to my potential," Swaby continued.
His coach Paul Young, praised his players for their outstanding display and took a swipe at his opposing coach, Geoffrey Maxwell in the process.
"I am so proud of my players. They really deserved it. On our day we are a better team than Waterhouse and we showed it today. We outplayed them in every department," he pointed out.
"I thought tactically, if Peter Cargill was at Waterhouse, they would have probably done much better. We do our talking on the field. We don't talk off the field. The argument is settled on the field," added Young.
But Maxwell was full of praises for his conquerors, saying they scored three very good goals and deserved to win.
"Portmore deserved to have won the game. They played an excellent game. I thought the midfield is where we lost the game."
He continued: "They scored three very good goals. The movements, the placing of the shots was very good. I thought our goalkeeper was out of position for the second goal."
They will now meet defending champions Tivoli Gardens in the two-way finals. The first leg is set to begin at 7:00p.m. on Wednesday at the National Stadium, with the return leg slated to be played next week Monday at the same venue.
