Notice cleared
published: Tuesday | June 21, 2005

Glenroy Sinclair, Staff Reporter

FORENSIC EXAMINATIONS yesterday has cleared a vehicle that was assigned to Dr. Raymoth Notice, the outgoing Mayor of Spanish Town, from involvement in criminal activities.

The police had detained the mayor's Suzuki Vitara sport-utility vehicle, searching for samples of blood.

It is alleged that the vehicle was seen leaving a murder scene in Bog Walk, St. Catherine, about two weeks ago. Reports are that one of the murder suspects who was wounded during the incident was seen leaving the scene in the vehicle that was assigned to Dr. Notice.

"Forensic investigations have revealed that there was no evidence to suggest that any blood samples or body parts were found in the vehicle," said Acting Deputy Superintendent Meveral Smith, the crime officer for the St. Catherine North Police Division.

Speaking with The Gleaner yesterday, the commanding officer for the division, Superinten-dent Kenneth Wade, said he had given instructions for the investigators to turn over the vehicle to Dr. Notice.

In the meantime, the police said they are investigating a group of men in the Bog Walk area who are allegedly related to Dr. Notice's driver. Over the past two weeks, several members of Dr. Notice's driver's family have been killed, including his son, brother, and daughter-in-law.
