LETTER OF THE DAY - National monuments need refurbishing
THE EDITOR, Sir: I RECENTLY visited the National Heroes Park with my family, who were visiting from overseas. The park, in my mind, is one of the must-see spots for visitors who I have to tour, and is a spot that I frequently visit.

Let Port Arthur Lane remain
THE EDITOR, Sir: I AM a resident of Annotto Bay who has lived all my life on Port Arthur Lane and have grown to know and respect the rich history of my town. My foreparents boasted our rich heritage as being one that had three ports at one time.

Halfway house for deportees
THE EDITOR, Sir: I WRITE in support of the idea of establishing some sort of "halfway house" for deportees, especially those who are returning with no immediate families in Jamaica.

Court fines are not adequate
THE EDITOR, Sir: I BELIEVE that the sentences handed down by judges, as it relates to fine or imprisonment of persons found guilty of crime, are among the contributing factors to our crime problem.
