Training, development body celebrates 25th anniversary
published: Friday | July 1, 2005

THE JAMAICA Association for Training and Development (JATAD) will be celebrating its 25th Anniversary with a week of activities commencing on July 3 under the theme "Energising Regional Prosperity - High Morale, Productivity and Quality".

The highlight of the week will be the renaming of JATAD to become the Human Resource Management Association of Jamaica (HRMAJ) so as to reflect its scope and reach including accreditation of human resource professionals.

The celebration will kick off with a church service at the Boulevard Baptist Church on Washington Boulevard in Kingston, followed by a courtesy call on the Governor-General His Excellency the Most Hon. Sir Howard Cooke on Monday, July 4. On Tuesday, July 5, there will be a public forum exploring the issues surrounding the "Caribbean Single Market and Economy (CSME), and its Impact on Human Resources" at the Knutsford Court Hotel in Kingston. This event targets members of the private and public sectors, labour unions as well as students and members of the wider public.

Additionally, an awards banquet under the patronage of the Governor-General, is to be held on Thursday, July 7 at 7:00 p.m. at the Knutsford Court Hotel, Ruthven Road. Newly appointed President of Blue Cross of Jamaica Professor Errol Morrison will be the guest speaker. This occasion will also see the unveiling of the new name.
