Unruly drivers
published: Sunday | July 3, 2005

THE EDITOR, Sir:

I AM writing regarding the traffic situation on the East King's House Road (leading on to the Barbican roundabout to proceed in the direction of Russell Heights).

How many of you patient, disciplined, drivers have noticed that NOT ONLY do we have to sit and watch helplessly with our blood boiling as the unruly, impatient drivers fly around the roundabout and bore their way straight into the top of the line, BUT NOW we have the even more frustrating situation where other unruly drivers are now speeding through the parking lot of the New Ken Loshusan Supermarket.

By entering the parking lot of East King's House Road and exiting directly on the final stretch of the roundabout, these individuals cut out most of the traffic altogether!

I would like to know what steps the proprietors of the new shopping area will take to curb this practice.

Meanwhile, I contemplate the saying, "If you can't beat them join them!" I'm wondering whether I too should join the ranks of the unruly. After all, this would save me a whole load of stress and of course, get me where I am going much quicker!

I am, etc.,

TRACEY MCNAIR,

Kingston 8
