DWIGHT THOMAS was the best Jamaican performer at Friday's opening IAAF Golden League Series Meet in Paris, France.
Thomas, who was third at the National Championships last weekend, secured the same position with his 10.11 seconds clocking in Paris.
Ghana's Aziz Zakari won in 10.04 ahead of second-placed Francis Obikwelu of Poland (10.05).
In the men's 400 metres, the fourth-place finisher at last weekend's Trials, Sanjay Ayre, was sixth in 45.61. Canada's Christopher Tyler won in a Canadian record 44.69 seconds.
WORLD-LEADING JUMP
Russian triple jumper Tatyana Lebedeva (15.11m) leapt a world-leading mark, surpassing the previous season's best of 14.91 metres by Jamaica's Trecia Smith, who placed fourth with 14.44 metres. Suzette Lee was 12th with a leap of 13.40m.
Olympic champion Joanna Hayes of the US (12.60) topped Canada's world champion Perdita Felicien (12.66) in the women's sprint hurdles in which Andrea Bliss finished eighth in 13.24.
National record holder Kenia Sinclair finished fifth in the women's 800m in 1:59.51, her second fastest time. She was beaten by world leader and Russian Svetlana Cherkasova who won in 1:57.52.
Cuba's Zulia Calatayud (1:58.37) and Mozambique's Maria Mutola (1:58.96) were second and third, respectively.
