LETTER OF THE DAY - Spelling Champion says thanks
THE EDITOR, Sir: PLEASE ALLOW me to express my appreciation to all the persons who have contributed in making my trip to this prestigious competition, Scripps National Spelling Bee, a memorable occasion.

Parliament and Internet
THE EDITOR, Sir: CONGRATULATIONS TO C&W Jamaica Ltd. for equipping our Parliament (Gordon House) with high-speed Internet access. What is now needed is for the responsible government agency to do two things.

Death penalty for convicts?
THE EDITOR, Sir: I WISH to express my heartfelt sympathies to the parents of Shaneka and Shauna-Kay. Seek refuge in God and strength in the knowledge that they are gone to heaven untainted by the world.

Oh no Portia, you didn't!
The Editor, Sir: Now I feel so sorry for Portia Simpson, Senior Cabinet Minister and now a contender for the top job, hoping to become Jamaica's next Prime Minister.
