A HOUSEHOLD helper who was taken into custody a month ago in connection with the double murder of gas station operator, Lloyd G. Brown, and businesswoman, Sandra Campbell was released yesterday following a court order.
Attorney-at-Law, Ravil Golding had filed a writ of habeas corpus in the Corporate Area Resident Magistrates Court seeking the immediate release of the household helper.
Senior Resident Magistrate Martin Gayle, after hearing submissions on July 1, ordered that the woman should be released by July 7 if she was not charged in connection with the double murder.
So far, she has not been charged and was subsequently released by the Constant Spring police today. Mr. Brown and Miss Campbell were reportedly shot and killed at Miss Campbell's Stony Hill residence on June 5.
The household helper who was employed to Miss Campbell for 18 months was taken into custody on June 6. On that day the police went to a house in Vineyard Town where they found a photograph of Mr. Brown and his licensed firearm.
A man was charged with illegal possession of the firearm.
