Rain, no play
published: Saturday | July 9, 2005

Kwesi Mugisa, Staff Reporter

The JDF and Manchester cricket clubs will have to wait another week before going at it in the Jamaica Cricket Association (JCA) Supreme Ventures Super Cup finals.

Originally scheduled for this weekend, the passage of Hurricane Dennis resulted in the suspension of play. The JCA also postponed the final round of the Red Stripe Championship (Senior Cup) and two outstanding Corporate Area Junior Cup matches.

The three-day Supreme Ventures Super Cup finals will now be held at Kensington Park from Friday, July 15 to Sunday, July 17.

Red Stripe Cup

The rescheduled Red Stripe Championship Cup matches will also be held next weekend with Portland taking on Boys' Town at Folly, Hanover challenge St Thomas at Elgin Town, Westmoreland will face-off against Police at Alan Rae Oval, Kingston and St. Andrew playing St. James at Maxfield Park. St. Ann will confront Trelawny at Kaiser, whereas Clarendon will meet Jamaica Under-19 at the JAMALCO Sports Club.

The two outstanding Junior Cup matches featuring Police vs. Melbourne at Elletson Rd. and JDF vs. St. Thomas at Up Park Camp will also be played next week Saturday and Sunday.

The ISSA Grace/Jackie Hendricks Under-14 Cricket semi-finals, which was also put off due to the threat
of Hurricane Dennis, is scheduled to be played on Monday.

In the first semi-final, Eltham High will take on Meadowbrook and St. Jago will challenge Kingston College in the other semi.
