Ghanian president to arrive tomorrow

KUFUOR

PRESIDENT OF the Republic of Ghana, H. E. John Agyekum Kufuor is scheduled to arrive at the Norman Manley International Airport on Monday afternoon to begin a three-day working visit.

The Sunday Gleaner understands that President Kufuor's visit is in relation to proposed Ghanian investment in the Jamaican bauxite sector.

Foreign Affairs Minister Nana Akfudo Addo, MP and Minister of Trade and Industry Alan Kyerematu will accompany President Kufuor.

Prime Minister P.J. Patterson will host the President on Monday evening at a private dinner. Both leaders will engage in bilateral talks on Wednesday morning, which will be followed by a press conference.

FLORAL TRIBUTE

On Tuesday morning, President Kufuor will lay a floral tribute at the shrine of National Hero, the Rt. Excellent Marcus Garvey at National Heroes' Park. Other engagements on Tuesday will include a courtesy call on Governor-General Sir Howard Cooke in the morning, and a courtesy call in the afternoon by Opposition Leader, Bruce Golding.

A priority for the president will be a tour on Tuesday afternoon of the JAMALCO facilities at Halse Hall, Clarendon. President Kufuor will also tour the University of Technology before his departure on Wednesday afternoon.
