'Missing' attorney turns up
published: Monday | July 11, 2005

WESTERN BUREAU:

THERE WAS a sigh of relief throughout Montego Bay yesterday after well known Montego Bay attorney Gordon Brown turned up safe after being declared missing earlier in the day.

The Montego Bay business community had quickly mobilised and put up a $1 million bounty for information leading to his whereabouts or safe return. The Montego Bay police started investigations into the circumstances surrounding his 'disappearance' after his Suzuki SUV was found apparently abandoned along the Gloucester Avenue in the vicinity of a popular nightclub.

Mr Brown, a partner at the law firm Chancellor & Co. is also the chairman of the Western Regional Health Authority. He turned up at the Freeport Police Station in Montego Bay unscathed then returned home.

He was Master of Ceremonies at the installation dinner for the Rotary Club of Montego Bay East held at The Holiday Inn SunSpree hotel on Saturday night and was there until 11:00 p.m. when the function ended. He left and then turned up at a popular nightspot along the 'hip strip' where he was last seen at about 4:00 a.m.
