'Why I like to cook'
published: Thursday | July 14, 2005

Taylor Henry, six, says she's always first in line to taste her brother's treats. His pancakes are a hit but so are his fruit kebabs.

ELEVEN-YEAR-OLD ZACHARY Davis who will be a grade six student at St. Andrew Prep in September wrote:

I like to cook because it gives me a good feeling. I also like tasting the food I cook.

Sometimes I even get tips if the person likes the food! Another thing I like is the peeling and chopping of the food.

I also like being creative with my food like arranging fruits in a star or flower shape.

And that's why I like cooking.

Yours truly, Zachary Davis

HIS SISTER SAYS ...

His pizza is nice. The cheese makes it nice, plus he uses meat, ham and ketchup.

I also like the eggs and sometimes he makes pancakes for breakfast.

- Taylor Henry, 6

HIS MOTHER SAYS ...

He likes the decorative aspect of cooking.

For our wedding anniversary last year, the table was well set. He took out the fancy place mats and used floral pillow cases as slip covers for the chairs. And he made fruit and vegetable salads.

From he was about seven, he would bring us breakfast in bed - sandwiches - and decorate the tray with flowers.

- Michele Henry, Marketing Manager IYA Ltd.

HIS FATHER SAYS ...

His presentation is excellent.

His singing is even better.

- Sean Henry, CEO, IYA Ltd.
