ST. JAGO and Eltham High have booked their places in next week's final of the ISSA Grace/Jackie Hendriks Under-14 cricket competition.

St. Jago got the better of Kingston College in a low-scoring semi-final yesterday with KC, chasing a mere 45 runs for victory, being bundled out for 27.

St. Jago captain Gareth Garvey was the main contributor to his team's win as he top-scored with 19 runs then came back to grab six wickets for nine runs off 11 overs. Akeem Dewar claimed five wickets for 16 runs from 9.3 overs to be the leading wicket-taker for Kingston College.

HIGHLIGHT

The highlight of the other semi-final on Tuesday was the batting of West Indies women's player, Stephanie Taylor, whose five-boundary 39 was the top score in Eltham's total of 114 for three chasing 129 set by Meadowbrook, before rain ended play an hour and 40 minutes early.

Oshane Walker made 49 for Meadowbrook against Oshane Baugh's four wickets for 25 runs off 11 overs.

The match was ruled in Eltham's favour through the Duckworth/Lewis System.
