THE EDITOR, Sir:
IT IS time once more when the rush is on by parents to seek transfer for their children from one category of schools to another. Perception seems to be taking precedence over reality.
I ask that you publish this article written by one of my Grade 9 students of 2004-2005 which speaks effectively of the type of programme we offer at the school.
The article:
'My last year at a school that I did not like'.
By Romaine Virgo - 9M
I was placed at a school I did not like. When I was placed there I cried because people were saying that the school was a bush school. That is why I did not want to attend this school often.
I did not attend school often and so I was not aware of the things that happened in the school. I got low marks in Grades 7 and 8. At Grade 9 I decided to attend school more often and tried to participate in everything to see if my name could be made within the school. My plan was successful and now I am doing well in school. I know with all my heart that I will be placed at a high school through the ROSE Examination.
I want to say thanks to all of the teachers and members of the other staffs for helping me to achieve my goals. Special thanks to my language arts and mathematics teachers. I also say thanks to my principal. A big thanks to him because he helped me to prepare for the ROSE Exam. I am indeed grateful that I attended the school I did not like.
I am, etc.,
