KSAC spending cause for concern
published: Thursday | July 21, 2005

THE EDITOR, Sir:

I WAS pleasantly surprised at Dawn Ritch in The Sunday Gleaner of July 17, 2005, writing about the spending of the KSAC under Desmond McKenzie. I believe there is good reason for concern as to how the KSAC funds are spent.

From the parochial fund the mayor outspends his closest colleague at a ratio of two to one. The urgency to smash signs and confiscate the wares of vendors in the Pearnel Charles Arcade must be easily apparent to even the most casual observer of the city's business.

I can vividly remember the mayor's prime time appearance on 'A Day in the Life of Desmond McKenzie'. He was in fine form as he berated his staff while observing the roads in rural St. Andrew. After all his 'big' talk the Mount Friendship Road which was a part of the tour remains in a disgraceful state. Keep up the good work, your worship.

I eagerly anticipate his closing down the university as a follow up to closing down the circus. For good measure he may want to close his mouth as much garbage is escaping from it into the city daily.

I am, etc.,
